SWIMMING TO SCHOOL

One of the key things almost every parent wants for their child is a good education. But in the Philippines, education isn’t on a level playing field. The rich can send their kids to private schools, but lower income families have to rely on an often inadequate public system.

Sharron Lovell has the story of a self-taught man from the slums who, thanks to some creative thinking, is helping himself and others get a chance to make it big.
