Mayon is one of the Philippines' most active volcanoes, having erupted at least 50 times since records began in the 17th century. But thousands live a few kilometers from the volcano in an area that authorities have marked as a permanent danger zone. Steve Lunt visited a village in Albay province to understand why residents insist on staying despite having what seems to be a ticking time bomb in their own backyard.

Nepal's mountaineering industry suffered its most tragic years in 2014 and 2015, when disasters killed guides and porters on Mount Qomolangma or Everest. As expedition workers try to move on from tragedy, they are also hoping for greater support from their government. Pearly Jacob spoke with Sherpa expedition workers and their families about their hopes and fears.
