Forced to Fight: Children on Myanmar's Battlefields

A conflict between government forces and various ethnic groups has been raging in Myanmar since its independence in 1948. The long-running civil war has not only displaced more than half a million people, but also forced the country's young into the frontlines.

CCTV's Barnaby Lo visits Myanmar's impoverished countryside, where young villagers tell stories of being abducted and coerced to work as soldiers either by the military or insurgents.

Myanmar's military and armed ethnic groups all deny conscripting people aged below 18 years. But firsthand accounts from residents, as well as footage from an independent group, show otherwise.

It's a reality that keeps some of Myanmar's poorest living in fear and desperately yearning for peace.
